Heathrow tear gas incident: Four men jailed for affray

The incident happened at Heathrow Airport in December - (Reuters)

Four men have been jailed for between 21 and 27 months after pleading guilty to affray following a violent incident at Heathrow Airport last December.

Tyrone Richards, Anton Clarke-Butcher, Omoneke Whyte, and Denzel Eduardo targeted passengers arriving from South Africa before stealing their suitcases.

CS gas deployed in a car park lift spread to a nearby coffee shop, causing victims to vomit blood, choke, and require hospital treatment.

The attack forced an hours-long lockdown at Terminal 3 and caused widespread travel disruption across the airport.

Sentencing the men at Isleworth Crown Court, Judge Kwame Inyundo described the violence as serious, sustained, and determined.
