Hearts transfer clue as Robbie Neilson predicts when summer business will 'kick off' again

Robbie Neilson says things have been quiet on the Hearts transfer front - but that does not mean that the business is done for the summer.

The Gorgie boss has penned fresh terms to remain as Jambos boss until the summer of 2025 this week after a successful two years in the role. Hearts have guaranteed European group stage football until Christmas and start their Premiership campaign - having finished third last season - against Ross County at Tynecastle on Saturday. Neilson is delighted to have signed his new deal alongside backroom staff Gordon Forrest and Lee McCulloch, but the hard work starts now with a new season upon them and six new signings.

He said: “The club came to me about renewing it and I was delighted to do it. I’m looking forward to getting started again; pre-season has run for about six or seven weeks now. Our objective is to try and win every game and that starts on Saturday against Ross County.

“I’m delighted with where the squad is at. We’ve got strength in all the positions and now it’s a case of bringing in a few more players who can add a bit of quality as well.

"There's nothing (imminent at the moment). It's been quiet quiet the last week or two but I think in the next week or two it will kick off again."

Josh Ginnelly meanwhile is back in training ahead of the Staggies visit to Edinburgh.
