Heartbroken dad Ronan Keating says his 'heart hurts' as he bid his daughter an emotional farewell as she moves to Australia.
Missy, 21, is the second child of the Boyzone star and his ex-wife Yvonne Connolly and is moving down under as she pursues a career in acting. The Irish beauty has worked as a model and was signed to Dublin-based agency 1st Option Management, reports the Mirror.
The aspiring actress previously starred on the Irish version of Dancing with the Stars earlier this year. There has also been speculation she could be appearing on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as she show has started filming in Australia and coincides with her move.
Her rumoured stint on the ITV reality show is so far unconfirmed, it appears Missy has been planning her move for some time. Speaking to Irish showbiz website Goss.ie, she said: “I’m moving to Sydney at the end of the month. I’m really looking forward to it.
“I have lots of family in Australia, and there are some great agencies out there for acting. I’m really excited to get out there and start a new chapter. It’s time for a new me.”
She explained the reasons for her career swap, telling the publication: “I’ve always enjoyed acting and put it on hold for the last few years as there’s been other things I’ve been interested in, but looking back, acting has always been the thing I enjoyed the most. It’s what I can see myself doing, hopefully, years to come.”
So far, Missy has starred in three films Dark Touch (2013), The Sea (2013), and The Library (2015).
Announcing her move on social media, Ronan shared a sweet tribute to his eldest daughter as she hugged his two youngest children - Cooper, five, and two-year-old Coco. The proud dad wrote on Instagram: “Off she goes. Australia watch out @missyykeating is on her way.
"Heart hurts so much. We are all going to miss her like crazy.”
Sharing their family nickname for Missy, he continued: “I’m so excited for ya Moo moo. Massive thank you to all the team @virginatlantic for taking such great care.”
Missy's older brother Jack, 23, who made an appearance on Love Island this year as a Casa Amor bombshell, commented on the post. The social media manager commented underneath with a red heart and crying face emoji.
Her mum Yvonne also took to Instagram to wish her daughter the best of luck on her new adventure down under. She wrote: “Before Missy moves on to the next chapter in her life, we got to spend the most beautiful weekend with her friends and family and to say our goodbyes before she goes back to London, to get ready for her big move to Australia!!
“You wanted this for so long Missy. What an adventure. We will miss you so much but I’m also SO excited for you. You are a formidable, fabulous, fierce woman and will no doubt make the most of the opportunities that come your way. I love you @missyykeating.”
Step-mum Storm, who is mum to Ronan’s two youngest children, also posted a goodbye message on Instagram. Sharing an emotional snap of them with their arms round each other as they walked through the airport, she wrote: “When you let them go,” followed by a broken heart emoji.
She continued: “So many tears but so excited for you Moo. You are the most amazing young woman and so ready to now take on the world
“You have such a wonderful adventure ahead of you and I look forward to watching it all unfold – you deserve it. We’re going to miss you soooo much, this house just won’t feel the same without your glowing energy and smiling face in it. Love you.”
Replying to the posts, Missy wrote: “What a heartbreaking goodbye. Love you guys so much. Thank you for everything!! Visit me ASAP please.”
