Oscar Piastri just has to remember his days in the junior ranks to remind himself why his teammate and nearest rival Lando Norris is "certainly not out of the fight" to lift the world F1 title.
And McLaren's Norris declared at the start of Italian Grand Prix weekend in Monza that he still believes he can win the title, even without Piastri suffering the same sort of misfortune the luckless Englishman endured last weekend at Zandvoort.
Norris slipped to 34 points behind Piastri after his car's engine failed while he was running second to the Australian at the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday, a gap so significant that even if he were to beat Piastri into second place over the next four races, he would still be behind in the standings.
