Haryana: Deputy commissioner forms 2 teams to check illegal mining in Panchkula

PANCHKULA: Deputy commissioner (DC), Panchkula formed two special teams comprising administration, police, forest and RTA officials to conduct surprise inspections at all four official mining sites and compile a report on illegal mining, if any. A report has to be submitted in the DC office in a week.

During a meeting on the issue of illegal mining, DC Mahavir Kaushik directed officials concerned to conduct raids in their respective areas to check illegal mining and submit an action taken report to them after a week.

He also instructed officials to crack down on illegal mining and take strict action against the guilty whenever a case of illegal mining came to light.

The team consisted of SDM Kalka, ACP Kalka, mining officer and block development and panchayat officer for Pinjore and Kalka area. A team of Raipur Rani tehsildar, SHO Raipur Rani and a mining inspector are to conduct checking in Raipur Rani. The DC also directed officials to demarcate mining sites at Sukhdarshanpur and Shyamtu on priority basis. Illegal sale of mined sand and gravel at Mankaya and Burj Kotiyan villages are to be checked byspecial barricading and checking in the area by mining, RTA (Regional Transport Authority), forest and police officials.
