Harvey Weinstein was today ordered to serve a new 15-year prison term in New York, after a judge rejected his plea for leniency in the sexual assault case involving former 'Project Runway' production assistant Miriam Haley. The 74-year-old former Hollywood producer was convicted in 2025 of first-degree criminal sexual act over the assault on Haley in 2006.
Justice Curtis Farber imposed the sentence following the retrial of a case that had already sent Weinstein to prison before New York's highest court overturned his 2020 conviction over trial errors. Weinstein has denied raping or sexually assaulting anyone and told the court that he had remorse for Haley's pain while maintaining his innocence.
