Harry Redknapp has predicted that Morgan Gibbs-White will be playing in the Premier League next season - even if Nottingham Forest suffer relegation to the Championship.
The midfielder has been named in the former manager’s team of the week, alongside striker Taiwo Awoniyi after he caught the eye with his performance in the 4-3 win over Southampton. Gibbs-White was on the scoresheet in the first half, making it 3-1 from the penalty spot.
He then provided a memorable assist in the second half for what turned out to be Forest’s winning goal. The 23-year-old has been influential in recent weeks, scoring three times and providing two assists in his last four Premier League games.

And he has been picked out as a player who will be key in Forest’s hopes of staying up at the end of the season.
“What a classy player Morgan Gibbs-White is,” Redknapp told BetVictor . “He’s still young so he will make some mistakes and try things he shouldn’t, but some of his touches and passes are top class.
“His penalty was so composed and his assist for Forest’s fourth against Southampton was sublime. I think regardless of what happens to Forest, Morgan will be playing in the Premier League next season.”
The pundit also picked out Awoniyi for praise after the Nigerian scored twice in the first half to put Forest in control of the game. The goals were the forwards’ fourth and fifth so far this season, and were his first since the reverse fixture vs Southampton back in January.
Redknapp said: “Taiwo Awoniyi was such a handful for Southampton and took his two goals very well. I like this lad; he causes defences all sorts of problems.
“He probably should score more goals; we saw what a good finisher he is. When you’re down at that end of the table, you need a striker you know can get you goals, he’s definitely that player for Forest.”
