Happy Valley fans have been predicting how the BBC One series will end ahead of next week's finale. Sunday night's episode was the penultimate in the series - and saw Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) in a race against time to save her family from twisted killer Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton).
Next week's episode, the last one ever, will - according to the BBC's synopsis - "see scores settled for good on Catherine’s final shift" as her grandson (and Tomny's biological son) "Ryan [Rhys Connah] faces a moral dilemma".
@waterlanegypsy said: "I think Ryan's 'moral dilemma' from the E6 synopsis is giving up Tommy to the police. And when he will give him up, TLR will attack him with hatred - Ryan will finally see Tommy's true face. Maybe Tommy will get killed due to this (I hope by Ann, she deserves her revenge)".
David Falconer tweeted: "Prediction - showdown between Catherine & Tommy. Ryan gets his hands on a gun. Shoots as the two are struggling. But who does he shoot? Tommy? Catherine by mistake? Both? I can’t wait for next Sunday."
@FirehorseP predicted: "Ryan is going to redeem Tommy somehow. Probably by loving him despite what he's done. I hope so anyway."
@nicohobson said: "My Happy finale prediction : the focus on Ryan telling Catherine that he loves her and ppl making him feel so unwanted has me thinking : Ryan will say yes to meeting Tommy, then get Catherine to intercept and get tommy back in custody."
@AR2885 tweets: "Placing my bets now: Ryan will kill Tommy in the Happy Valley finale."
Jan Robertson said: "Right, I'm calling it, Ryan is going to turn Tommy's 'revenge is a dish best served cold' phrase on him after learning from Ann he's the result of rape and there will be showdowns between Ann and Tommy and Catherine and Tommy."
And @Banterman21 said: "Tonight's prediction for next week Tommy tries to take out Catherine one more time. Ryan takes out Tommy forever."
@onelife agreed, tweeting: "I have a feeling Ryan will kill Tommy in the end."
