When you're sitting in the chair at the hair salon, it can feel really intimidating - especially if you're not 100% decided on which style you're going to choose. But one hairdresser has warned people who are going to get their hair done to never ask for one specific cut because if you do, you're going to leave the salon seriously disappointed.
Hairdresser Joie Judge, who posts on TikTok as @joie_judge, shared "what not to ask your hair stylist", explaining over the top of the video that it's a "common hair lingo mistake", and one you certainly don't want to make.
At the start of the video, Joie can be seen tousling her enviable locks, leaving people wondering what she'd asked for at the salon, and how many layers she had in her hair.
It turns out that one of the worst things you can say when you're at the hairdresser's is: "I just want one or two layers", because you could end up with something a lot choppier than you'd intended.
The video shows a variety of hairstyles that were unlikely the desired look when the women sat in the chair, varying from subtly different hair lengths to three different layers.
In the comments, people were shocked at the styles from the video, with many women wondering what she asked for when she went to the salon.
One woman wrote: "Thank you for this!"
Someone asked how they could achieve her look, and Joie replied: "Blunt cut, no layers, with beachy curls. The only thing that makes this cut is the style."
Another person recommended not asking for a style that "frames your face", preferring to stick with a "one length clean cut."
"This happened to me but I asked for lots of choppy layers and it looked like a shelf", a disgruntled TikToker wrote.
