Hailey Bieber's counter and cabinet combination is an updated take on the classic black-and-white kitchen

Hailey Bieber.

As the current queen of skincare, Hailey Bieber knows a thing or two about trends and beauty. This clearly carries over to her own home, which she's shared bits of through her Instagram and YouTube page.

Her kitchen tour is on repeat at H&G HQ (the labeled spice jars and coffee station are just a couple of points of interest and inspiration). Lately, however, we are coveting her marble countertops and dark cabinetry.

Black and white kitchens can be created through classic tiling or simply painted walls with black accented storage. Hailey's take, however, is a bit more modern and refined – and experts say marble is the trend that keeps giving. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, designers are in agreement.

'Natural stones, such as marble, are a popular option for worktops, splashback, and flooring due to the luxury finish they provide, and this is set to continue well into the new year,' says Elliott Fairlie, product lead at Bushboard.

'The veining present creates movements and direction in the space, in a way that other materials cannot, resulting in a tranquil, clean aesthetic that is perfect for creating harmony in the home.'

It certainly looks pretty, but Elliott advises being mindful of marble's implications, namely, cost and care.

'A material known for its high maintenance nature and susceptibility to chips and stains means that some homeowners are reluctant to include it in their space as they’re not ready to deal with the upkeep. There’s also the high price point to contend with, which means it’s not always within budget.'

While marble is definitely a higher-end material to work with, Elliott says that using it in smaller quantities can provide a strong impact if implemented strategically.

'Opting for a marble finish worktop or splashback, rather than the solid raw material, has its advantages,' he says. 'You can achieve your desired look within budget while having an easy-to-clean and easy-to-maintain space. The options available span both dark and light marbles, as well as light and deep veining, meaning there’s something to suit any taste.'

Want to get on the marble train? Below, we've rounded up some accessories, along with the perfect shade of black to match Hailey's kitchen cabinet color.
