Hailey Bieber has said she has had “some of the saddest, hardest moments” of her adult life since the start of 2023.
She posted a message to her 50 million Instagram followers urging her fans to support each other, and said that her mind and emotions have been “fragile” recently. She was admitted to hospital in March 2022 after suffering 'stroke-like symptoms' and had surgery later in the year for a heart defect.
In March 2023, her husband Justin Bieber cancelled the rest of the tour dates on his world tour, Justice, after he developed Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which causes facial palsy. Hailey has also recently been caught up in a social media feud with Justin's ex, Selena Gomez, which ended when Selena posted on her Instagram story asking fans to be kind.

Posting on her Instagram story, Hailey wrote: “I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time. But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least…
“And I know so many other people feel the way I feel, so just know you’re not alone. That being said, let’s keep being there for one another. Let’s be there for loved ones and friends and family and strangers. Let’s just be there for people… let’s keep showing up for each other even when it’s hard. We’re better together.”
Hailey and Justin married in secret ceremony in New York in 2018 when Justin was 24 and Hailey was 21, and they exchanged vows for a second time in South Carolina at the end of September 2019. Selena and Justin had been in an on again, off again relationship since 2011, finally breaking up for the last time in 2018, less than a year before Hailey and Justin were married.
More recently, she was accused of mocking Selena Gomez in a TikTok with her friends in January, after Selena had been body-shamed online when her holiday snaps were leaked. Hailey denied it, but the online feud continued when a clip emerged of Hailey Bieber seemingly pretending to vomit at the mention of Selena's name. People have also speculated about Selena purposely ignoring Hailey and suggested they don't get along.
