Gwen Stefani, the talented singer and former frontwoman of No Doubt, is thrilled about the upcoming reunion with her bandmates at the renowned Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. After nearly a decade apart, Stefani, along with Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal, and Adrian Young, will be hitting the stage together once again in Indio, California, this April.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Stefani couldn't contain her excitement as she opened up about the highly anticipated reunion. She expressed her anticipation, stating, 'I know it's going to be amazing. I'm so excited, and I think what is going to be hilarious is I know what's going to happen. I'm going to get on stage and look around and just start cracking up because it's just going to be like riding a bike.'
Stefani further expressed her enthusiasm for the event, noting the surreal experience of being back together with her bandmates after all these years. She joked, 'We're going to be like, 'What are we doing? We're in the future right now, we're at Coachella.' It's going to be bizarre.'
While the music festival is still a few months away, Stefani revealed that the group has yet to begin rehearsals for their performance. However, she admitted that she will need to relearn some of No Doubt's older hits. When asked about the songs, she confessed, 'I don't remember them, no, not at all. I think I'm going to have to learn probably like, eight or nine [songs].' In an accidental slip, she teased one of the tracks they might perform: 'One of the first songs I ever wrote was called 'Different People,' we're doing that.'
The mention of 'Different People' sent the audience into a frenzy of excitement. Stefani quickly covered her mouth in shock, realizing she didn't mean to reveal that particular song. She attempted to correct herself, saying, 'We might do that one.' The track in question appeared on No Doubt's third album, 1995's Tragic Kingdom, and holds a special place in their discography.
No Doubt's previous reunion occurred in 2012 for their album Push and Shove, with their last joint stage performance taking place in 2015. This time, they will be joining a star-studded lineup that includes Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat as headliners for this year's Coachella festival.
Fans and music enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating the No Doubt reunion, which promises to deliver a nostalgia-filled and electrifying performance. With Stefani's infectious excitement and her bandmates' musical prowess, this year's Coachella is bound to be a memorable experience for all in attendance.
