A week of wet and windy weather with with spells of sunshine is expected across Greater Manchester. Temperatures are expected to be normal for early winter. But the region will not be hit by snowfall which is expected in Scotland.

The Met Office says the north west will see frequent blustery showers in the afternoon, these may often be heavy with a chance of thunder. It will feel rather chilly with a maximum temperature of 10C
Any showers will fade away this evening, leaving a mostly dry and clear night. Winds falling light and turning cold and locally frosty. Temperatures possibly recovering later as skies cloud over with a minimum temperature 0C.
Tomorrow will see a bright start, especially in Cumbria, but cloud soon thickening, with outbreaks of rain edging in from the southwest through the day. Feeling chilly after the cold start. Becoming windy. Maximum temperature 9C
It will be mostly dry on Tuesday with some brighter breaks. There will be rain overnight, clearing on Wednesday morning then drier in the afternoon. Further rain expected for Thursday. It will be chilly with temperatures near normal.
Into the start of the weekend, conditions are expected to remain unsettled with further showers or longer periods of rain. At the end of November and into the start of December, conditions are likely to remain changeable, with periods of rain and strong winds. Western areas will likely continue to see heavier and more persistent rainfall compared to other parts of the country. Temperatures are likely to be around the seasonal average.
More than seven inches of snow could fall across parts of Britain tonight, according to the Met Office. Forecasters predict it will start to fall at 7pm this evening, with snowfall becoming heavier from midnight. However, most Brits will not see any flurries as the snow is expected to be limited to the high ground of Scotland.
