Scotland hero Graeme Souness has taken a swipe at the Auld Enemy by claiming that Harry Kane is their only real 'world class' player.
Kane, who missed the decisive penalty for England vs France in the World Cup quarter-final just over two months ago, has recently set his stake as one of the most successful strikers in the English game with his 200th goal in the Premier League and overtaking Jimmy Greaves' record as Tottenham's record goalscorer with 267.
Of course, what he hasn't won in his career is a trophy, which hasn't seemed overly close despite his multiple final losses for both club and country. But with stars such as Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden and Reece James surrounding him in the England team, the national team may well be his best chance at silverware. However, with Souness marvelling about his talents, he claimed Kane was the only 'world class' star in the England team - playing down his chances of silverware with the Three Lions.
He told Sky Sports: "We touched on it before when he was getting his award, he's a scorer of all types of goals - but he's a real football player.
"He can produce the killer pass; he curls things in, he smashes things in, he taps things in. He's just a top man. He is England's only world-class footballer, for me."
