Government urged to introduce Spring Bonus for social welfare recipients as cost of living crisis continues

A Sinn Féin TD has called on the government to introduce a Spring Bonus for people relying on working-age social welfare payments such as pensioners, people with disabilities, carers and lone parents.

Claire Kerrane, Sinn Féin spokesperson on Social Protection, said that this bonus could provide "much-needed support to hard-pressed households struggling with the cost of living crisis, along with additional necessary measures the party has outlined".

This comes one week after a motion by Sinn Fein Deputy Leader Pearse Doherty to introduce a Spring Bonus for those relying on working-age social welfare payments.
