Good Morning Britain viewers have threatened to "switch off" after Ed Balls joined Susanna Reid on the ITV breakfast show.
Fans tuning into the ITV programme this morning saw former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Ed Balls co-present the show with Susanna Reid - but his appearance didn't go down too well with some viewers.
Taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations, some dubbed Ed "boring" and "awkward". He is one of a number of presenters who appear alongside Susanna on the show after Piers Morgan's exit last year.
"If I scoured the endless lists of dubious 'celebs' and politicians, I couldn't find a more boring presenter than Ed Balls, well done GMB, yet another switch off!" one viewer wrote online.
A second added: "Ed Balls, are you serious. I switched on to see if this programme had improved and very quickly switched off when I saw it’s got worse," as a third wrote: "Switching off to go to BBC, Ed Balls doesn’t have the skills to present, bumbling on & on."
" @GMB please please why boring Ed Balls," a fourth penned.
A fifth wrote: "I’m sure ITV is trying to kill off #GMB - who wants to watch Ed Balls."
However, there was also a lot of support for Ed as he returned to front the ITV show.
"Thank you @GMB for bringing @edballs back to Good Morning Britain," one shared, as a second added: "Absolutely loving Ed Balls presentation skills. Fabulous to see and hear such a genuine caring person #GMB."
A third wrote: "I think he’s doing a great job asking good questions and not shouting down anyone who don’t agree with him. Ed Balls your doing great and I hope I see more of you on @GMB."
"Awesome Ed Balls. If you stay with Good Morning Britain, so I will watch daily," a fourth shared.
Ed made his presenting debut on the ITV show back in November last year, where he admitted he was feeling quite "daunted".
"Thank goodness you're here, it's so good to have somebody who knows what they are doing," he told Susanna at the time, as she joked she wouldn't leave him alone. He added: "Well thank you, I've never done this before so it's exciting, bit daunting."
"It's going to be very interesting and it's lovely to have you here," Susanna added.
