PANAJI: The Congress party failed to arrive at a decision regarding a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) chief who will replace rebel legislator Michael Lobo in the Goa Legislative Assembly. The decision was announced just before midnight and hours after the party asked speaker Ramesh Tawadkar to drop Calangute MLA from the post.
Despite state party president Amit Patkar giving assurances that the new CLP leader will be announced by afternoon, a quick decision eluded the party. Patkar said that the party could take as long as two days to finalize the name of the new opposition leader.
