December arabica coffee (KCZ26) closed up +10.80 (+3.66%) on Friday, and November ICE robusta coffee (RMX26) closed up +39 (+1.16%).
Coffee prices rallied sharply on Friday, with arabica posting a 5-week high. Concerns that an El Niño weather pattern could hurt Brazil's and Vietnam’s coffee crops next year are bullish for prices. Coffee trader Commercial said the El Niño weather pattern may delay rains in Brazil this month, when tree flowering normally occurs, hurting Brazil's 2026/27 coffee crop. On Friday, Vietnam’s Agriculture Ministry said that Vietnam’s Central Highlands, the country’s largest coffee-growing region, could face an El Niño-triggered drought later this year and early 2027.
