CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday directed the Punjab and Haryana governments to inform it about the details of claims for damages caused during the 2017 violence that had erupted following the conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in rape cases. The HC has sought these details for the purpose of sending them to tribunals for quantification.
Hinting at the constitution of claim tribunals, the HC also asked senior advocate Anupam Gupta, who has been assisting it as amicus curiae in this case, to propose the names of judicial officers for tribunals.
