An 11-year-old girl was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after being hit by a car.
Emergency services rushed to Carr Lane in Birkdale at around 4.20pm on Thursday, April 21, following reports of a child being hit by a car. Once Merseyside Police arrived at the scene they found an 11-year-old girl had suffered serious injuries after being hit by a blue Honda Civic.
The North West Ambulance Service and an air ambulance were also called to the scene and the girl was taken to the hospital.

The driver of a blue Honda Civic has stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. Road closures are in place while emergency services attend the incident.
Merseyside Police said: "We ask that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
