Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis is reportedly determined to remain in Europe should he leave the Scottish Premiership leaders this month.
However, a money-spinning contract could reportedly see him opt for a move further afield with the likes of Urawa Red Diamonds offering a bumper deal to lure the frontman to the J-League. Record Sport understands Serie A side Sampdoria have shown interest in a loan switch for the towering Greek frontman with clubs in Russia and Germany. Danish outfit Midtjylland had shown an interest in a move put appear to have been priced out of a swoop amid growing transfer interest.
Sport Time suggest that the 28-year-old's "priority" this month is to land a move to a European league, with the report noting that a big offer could see the forward perform a U-turn, with a massive increase in wages reportedly something that would lead to talks with clubs in Asia. Urawa Red Diamonds are understood to be prepared to offer to double Giakoumakis' current wage packet that he earns with Ange Postecoglou's men.
The Greece international, who has netted eight goals for Celtic in all competitions, looks set to leave Glasgow's east end this month with contract talks stalling between the two sides. The two parties have been unable to reach an agreement over an improved deal for Giakoumakis.
