The New York Giants (2-6) will visit the Las Vegas Raiders (3-5) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday afternoon in their ninth game of the 2023 regular season.
That, of course, provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal from the Raiders’ roster in search of depth and/or talent upgrades for Big Blue.
In looking over Las Vegas’ roster, there isn’t a whole lot to pick from. They aren’t the same sort of talent-rich team we’ve seen the Giants go up against this season but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few gems.
Offensive tackle Kolton Miller seems like an obvious choice. Guard Greg Van Roten would also be a solid addition to help boost the offensive line, while edge rusher Maxx Crosby is a stud on defense. Cornerback Nate Hobbs would also be a solid and somewhat under-the-radar addition, but we all know where this is going.
Enter wide receiver Davante Adams.
The Giants have one of the least-productive wide receiver groups in the NFL this season and lack that true No. 1 on the outside. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Adams would certainly change that.
Adams has been one of the league’s most productive receivers over the past seven seasons, dating back to his time with the Green Bay Packers. And although his numbers are down a bit this season, he’s still on pace for more than 1,000 yards and six touchdowns.
With 539 yards receiving through eight weeks, Adams more than doubles the closest Giants wide receiver (Darius Slayton, 257 yards). His three touchdowns would also lead the team (Giants have just one wide receiver touchdown this season).
What are your thoughts, Giants fans? Would you pick Davante Adams or would you steal an entirely different player from the Las Vegas Raiders?
