The New York Giants pulled off an unexpected trade on Thursday morning, acquiring Isaiah Simmons from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
The addition of Simmons gives him a fresh start and provides Wink Martindale with the ideal athletic specimen for his “positionless” defense.
Simmons is expected to return to an edge rush role with the Giants after being used frequently in the secondary last season.

Giants have been lining up their ILB at EDGE this summer more than they did last year. Adding Isaiah Simmons to the mix makes perfect sense as a guy you can line up wherever. Not sure what to expect from him yet but love adding a guy to a LB room that needs more talent!

Isaiah Simmons was one of the most athletic prospects we had seen in a while coming out of Clemson.
Finding a position where he fits best has been a challenge.
With that said, the Giants are paying a 7th round pick and owe Simmons only $1.01M this season.
