The Georgia Bulldogs continues to be ranked as the No. 1 team in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Georgia had a bye in Week 4 ahead of their Sept. 28 game at the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Alabama, who also had Week 4 off, is ranked No. 4 ahead of the Alabama-Georgia game. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs have both been ranked in the top 10 in each of their last six meetings. The winner of three of the last meetings between Georgia and Alabama has gone on to win the national championship (with two of those meetings being in the national title game).
Week 4 featured the Tennessee Volunteers knocking off the Oklahoma Sooners 25-15, the BYU Cougars dominating Kansas State Wildcats 38-9, the Michigan Wolverines defeating the USC Trojans 27-24, and the Utah Utes picking up a 22-19 win at the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Georgia continues to receive the vast majority of first-place votes in the coaches poll (35 of the 55). The No. 2 Texas Longhorns received 18 first place votes after defeating the Louisiana Monroe 51-3. The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes received a pair of first-place votes following their easy 49-14 win over Marshall.
