Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers to finally make boxing debut this summer

Former reality TV star and MMA fighter Aaron Chalmers will make his professional boxing debut on June 17.

The former Geordie Shore star has been training with coach Adam Booth who has worked with world champions David Haye and George Groves. Chalmers signed a promotional deal with BOXXER earlier this year with his debut pencilled in for April 2 in Newcastle.

But he was forced to pull out after being rushed to hospital for an emergency operation. Chalmers will now lace up his gloves next month at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

He will appear on a card promoted by label Wasserman Boxing which will be broadcast free-to-air on Channel 5 in the UK. Chalmers hasn't competed in combat sports for over two years since suffering defeat by Austin Clem in the cage in 2020.

Chalmers revealed he is excited to finally make his bow. "I feel like my debut has been a long time coming now and what better place to have it than in Liverpool, it’s always a cracking atmosphere there," he said. "I can’t wait to put on a show and get my boxing career rolling."

Promoter Kalle Sauerland added: "We’re very excited to have the big-hitting Geordie Shore star on board. He’s been fine-tuning his skills in boxing around some of the best in the game. If he wants to go down this path then there’s no better environment to do that, and certainly no better platform than in Liverpool on June 17 to prove his potential and show what he has learnt under one of the best in the business, Adam Booth.”

Chalmers has been planning to make his debut for several months but suffered a setback earlier this year after breaking his nose. The 34-year-old is keen to fast-track his career and would be open to a future clash with Love Island star Tommy Fury. "I've been down training for about nine months," Chalmers told Mirror Fighting last October.

"I'm training with a great group of lads at Boxing Booth and an incredible coach so hopefully it won't be long now until I can get in the ring and start enjoying myself. The celebrities are always going to be there. That seems to be the in thing at the moment celebrity boxing.

"Don't get me wrong, those are big money fights and I'd be silly to say that I don't want one of them, but they will come down the line. Maybe not the first two or three, but I would like to get a few fights in and then snap them up because it's money isn't it?" Tommy [Fury] will be there, so I'm not too worried, what will be will be."
