Geordie mum hits out at Ryanair over claims passengers flying to Gran Canaria were 'dumped' in Lanzarote

A Geordie mam has vowed never to fly with Ryanair again after she said she was left stranded when her flight was diverted due to a storm.

Emma Etherington and Barry Etherington, from Sunniside, were supposed to be on their first couples' holiday in more than 20 years now their son Josh has left home to study at Birmingham University. However, the couple arrived at their hotel a day and a half late after their Ryanair flight landed on Lanzarote and they were forced to take two ferries to the popular holiday island.

When they finally arrived in Gran Canaria via Fuerteventura at around 8.30pm local time on Monday September 26, they were taken by bus to Las Palmas Airport. From there, they had to make their own way to the accommodation that they had booked as part of a package with online travel agent loveholidays.
