Gemma Atkinson hilariously shares what could see her leave Gorka Marquez after bedtime outburst

Gemma Atkinson has called out her other half Gorka Marquez and named the thing he does that would make her consider leaving him. The Hits Radio host and the Strictly Come Dancing star met when Gemma was a contestant on the BBC One show in 2017.

While not partnered together, the pair became good friends and romance started to blossom early the following year when they both appeared on the dance contest's live arena tour. They then welcomed daughter Mia in July 2019 before Gorka popped the question on Valentine's Day 2021.

And back in January, the loved-up couple revealed they're expecting their second child, a baby boy, together. They shared the news alongside a string of black and white images which Gemma and dancer Gorka both posted to their Instagram pages after the mum-to-be said it was "impossible" to hide her growing bump any longer.

But after being forced to take off her engagement ring due to swelling as a result of being pregnant, Gemma made an admission about her relationship during a recent stint on the drivetime show she presents with co-star Mike Toolan.

"People who get eight hours sleep are 35% more productive," Gemma was heard saying in a clip shared to the Hits Radio Instagram account. "What about you?" Mike asked her to which she replied: "Oh I get about six. Two dogs, a toddler and a partner who likes to watch Spanish telly on his laptop 'til stupid hour."

With her head in her hands, the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star went on: "It's the one thing where I think to myself, I could leave you over this." Explaining further, Gemma said: "He watches The Voice Kids in Spain.

"In the Spanish version it goes, 'Es La Voz!' so I hear that all the time, even when he has his headphones on. The room is illuminating blue because of the laptop and the other night I woke up about quarter to two and he'd fallen asleep with it open watching 'Es La Voz!'

"And I thought, I can't cope with this so I got out, walked round my bed and I purposely slammed it shut oh his chest. He went: 'UH!' I said, 'I have been woken up again by this computer!'" She said she told him to go into another room but he had a rather sweet response.

"He goes, 'No, I want to be near you!' And I said, 'Well I don't want to be near you when you're watching 'Es La Voz,'" as she and Mike started laughing, she added: "Do you know what I mean?" Sharing the post to Instagram, Hits Radio wrote: "We didn’t expect this to be the reason @glouiseatkinson was losing sleep at night @gorka_marquez."

And fans found her retelling the story hilarious. @hay1973 said: "Howling xx I love how real you are and how you share your irritations & don’t portray everything is perfect x." @surge789se wrote: "Gemma your absolutely hilarious. U need ur own tv programme."

@laineypepper commented: "This is so funny, I love the way @glouiseatkinson keeps it real, doesn't pretend all is perfect just for the gram, I have the same thing but back to back Barnwood Builders." @mrsdrawoo replied: "Howling. This speaks to me." @sianiwarni added: "Oh she does make me laugh love her! @glouiseatkinson."

It comes as Gemma recentyl shared how she won’t be hearing wedding bells any time soon as, despite being engaged, the couple have no plans for the big date. "We never really had a date. We don’t want a massive wedding," she told The Sun's Fabulous. With all Gorka’s family in Spain and mine in the UK, as well as everyone on Strictly, it would be a huge wedding and we don’t want that.

"When we feel like it, we’ll probably just go to a registry office, do it ourselves with close family and then have a massive party afterwards. I think we will have a long engagement. It would be lovely for us all to have the same surname, but we feel married anyway, especially having two kids and a house. I don’t think a piece of paper would change that."
