Gedlich Winter Series introduces two new six-hour races for 2025

Gedlich Racing has introduced a new format into the Winter Series racing championships, with the inaugural editions of the 6 hours of Portimao and 6 hours of Barcelona.

The two six-hour races will not count towards any championship, but the cars and teams of the GT and GT4 Winter Series are eligible to take part. That means GT2 and GT3 cars will be joined by single-make machinery from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and McLaren, alongside the GT4 and Cayman Trophy-spec cars familiar to the GT4 Winter Series.

In addition, BMW M2 CS Racing, BMW M240i and Ligier JS2R cars are permitted, alongside other cars in the performance window outlined above.

Team can field cars with up to four drivers in each of the six-hour endurance races, with both races set to take place on the Sunday of the race weekends.

The race at the Algarve circuit will take place from 31 January-2 February, and marks the first full-scale endurance event organised by Gedlich Racing. On this weekend, the 6 hours of Portimao will be joined by the Formula Winter Series for its first round of 2025.

From the 14-16 March, a six-hour race will be held at the famed Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, in addition to a pair of races for a new Gedlich category: GT3 All-Stars for 2006-2014 GT3-spec racing machinery.

The grids for the races include endurance racing veterans Equipe Vitesse, Lionspeed GP and SR Motorsport, while interest is also coming in from Scandinavian, Spanish and UK-based teams.

As with the GT and GT4 Winter Series, Pirelli tyres will be exclusively used by the field during these six-hour events.

Both races will be broadcast live on YouTube.
