Rutherglen Glencairn have paid tribute to former player Gavin Stokes after his tragic death last week at the age of 30.
The talented midfielder died in the early hours of Saturday morning when he lost control of his Mercedes GLC at Thornwood Roundabout in Glasgow’s West End. The vehicle left the road around 1.10am and the father-of-one was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Gavin was part of Rutherglen Glencairn’s under-21 treble-winning team in 2012/13 and his success there earned him promotion to the senior side for a short spell before going on to play for Alloa.
