Gardai are investigating after the body of a man was found in a town in west Cork on Monday.
A member of the public reported finding the body in the Quay area of Bantry shortly before 10am in the morning.
The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Gardai have said that investigations are ongoing at this time.
A Garda spokesperson told CorkBeo: "Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a body of a man in Bantry, Co. Cork on Monday 1st May 2023.
"The body was discovered in the Quay area of Bantry town at approximately 10 am.
"The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The body has since been removed to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be conducted at a later date. Investigations are ongoing."
