Charles Dance has said he is ‘very, very lucky’ to have found love again following the end of his 34-year marriage to Joanna Haythorn.
The Game of Thrones actor, 76, has been in a three year relationship with Alessandra Masi, who at 54 is 22 years his junior.
Dance, whose marriage ended in 2004, met Italian Masi while on set of his latest film, The Book of Vision, five years ago.
The psychological drama, on which Masi was the unit production manager, was set to be released in 2020 but due to Covid, was delayed until January 20, 2022.
Asked about his most memorable moment during filming, he gushed: “To be honest, it’s meeting Alessandra.”
Asked whether the film pales in comparison to meeting the actress, he replied: "Well, it does a bit. Alessandra’s fantastic. I’m very, very lucky."
Dance, who has two adult children, daughter Rebecca and son Oliver with ex Haythorn, moved to London following his divorce and the sale of his home in Somerset.
Speaking after his divorce, he said: “I feel 35. I probably behave 25. It’s certainly been a period of change for me.
“Some of the time I handled it well and some of the time I didn’t. It was difficult to get back into family life after being away.
"But my wife was hugely supportive of my career – was, has been and I’m sure will continue to be so."
Dance was also romantically linked to French former Gucci model Shambhala Marthe and artist Eleanor Boorman, who he was with for four years.
He welcomed daughter Rose with Boorman in 2012 and the pair got engaged before splitting months later.
