Furious BGT fans 'switch off' minutes in over 'wrong' wildcard as favourite snubbed

Furious Britain's Got Talent fans switched off their tellies just minutes in after discovering which wildcard had been picked.

Viewers have been frustrated all week after seeing their favourites being knocked out during the semi-finals - from The Witches and Keiichi Iwasaki to Immi Davis.

So some were hopeful that they would be able to see their favourite back performing tonight.

However, the judges ended up picking dog act Amber and the Dancing Collies.

While some fans were happy about the decision, others were left fuming and took to Twitter to let rip.

One commented: "That’s who they picked for the wildcard??? What about Immi? Absolute bulls*** #BGT #BGTFinal."

While another commented: "Can’t believe they brought back the dog act as the wildcard. What a waste #BGT."

A third fumed: "the bloody performing dog was the best of the "wildcard" posibilities? Whatever..."

"The dancing dogs the wildcard where the hell is #Immie !!! WTF has happened to #BGT is @SimonCowell trying to kill it off? #BGTFinal," another raged.

One fumed: "That’s the wildcard choice?? I’m about to switch off before it even begins #BGT."

Tonight, the ITV show sought to crown its 2022 winner, who not only would bag £250,000 but would obtain a spot at the Royal Variety performance.

They would follow in the footsteps of singer-comedian Jon Courtenay, who won not only won viewers over in 2020 but also won hosts Ant and Dec over as he was their Golden Buzzer act.

He returned on Friday with a brand new song and couldn't resist making a jibe at Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Only three of the five Golden Buzzer acts made it through to the final tonight - Alesha's singing duo T4ylor and Flintz, Amanda's incredible vocalist Loren Allred and Simon's comedian Axel Blake.

Joining them were young ventriloquist Jamie Leahey, busker Maxwell Thorpe, comedian Ben Nickless, singer Tom Ball, comedian Eva Abley, dance group 5 Star Boys and poet Aneeshwar Kunchala.
