'Fuming' Phillip Schofield compared to Veruca Salt as he loses game to Holly Willoughby

This Morning viewers were left comparing Phillip Schofield to Veruca Salt after tuning into Wednesday's edition of This Morning.

Towards the end of the show, Phil and his co-host Holly Willoughby played another game of Guess The Gadget after he allegedly demanded a re-match.

However, he needn't had bothered as his co-host ended up defeating him once again as they guessed what certain gadgets are used for.

At one point, Phil alluded to the fact that 41-year-old Holly was cheating as she correctly guessed a golf ball dispenser as well as a pasta dryer.

When she correctly guessed the golf accessory, Phil looked gobsmacked and shouted: "Oh you are joking!"

"I swear I've never seen that in my life, I can't believe it!" Holly screamed as Phil fired back: "I don't believe you! Your husband plays golf!"

"I know he does but he doesn't have a dispenser!" the mother-of-three claimed as Phil mouthed to the camera: "I hate this game."

Clearly feeling fed up, the father-of-two even rubbished some of the products after desperately trying to guess what they were.

After tuning into the segment, viewers were keen to air their thoughts and took to Twitter to comment.

"Phil is fumin' #ThisMorning," one person wrote, while another said: "Aw go on Holly do us all a favour and keep getting them right."

Referring to the bratty character from Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, another viewer joked: "Phil is going into full on Verucca Salt mode #ThisMorning."

And one person tweeted before the game even began, saying: "I was going to switch over but I’m just waiting for Phil’s hissy fit #ThisMorning."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
