Fulham to miss former Chelsea midfielder for West Ham clash after Newcastle United red card

Fulham will be without midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah for their Premier League trip to West Ham United on Sunday.

The Hammers host the Cottagers in a London derby on Sunday afternoon, a game where the Irons will be looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time in England’s top-flight this season.

Going into the game, Fulham boss Marco Silva will be without midfielder Chalobah for the game due to suspension. The former Chelsea and Napoli midfielder was shown a straight red inside ten minutes for Fulham last Saturday after a horror challenge on Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff, leading to a 4-1 defeat for Silva’s side last time out.

Chalobah’s foul will lead to a three-match suspension for him, keeping him out of the London derby against West Ham this weekend. However, Fulham will be boosted by the return of Joao Palhinha, who missed that defeat to the Magpies serving a suspension of his own.

West Ham are expected to have a near fully available squad at David Moyes’ disposal. However, that could change following Thursday’s trip to Anderlecht in the Europa Conference League.

Winger Maxwel Cornet is a doubt for the meeting with Fulham due to a calf injury picked up in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Centre-back Nayef Aguerd is still on his road to recovery from an ankle injury sustained in pre-season.
