Frustrated tenant leaves savage note for nosy neighbour who peers through windows

A frustrated renter has been forced to take drastic measures to prevent a 'nosy' neighbour from peering into their windows as a last resort to get them to stop. Many of us will have suffered a nightmare neighbour at one point whether that be due to excessive noise, pinching parking spots or stealing wheelie bins.

However, this angry tenant was keen to take it one step further after the woman next door constantly invades their privacy by taking a peek inside their home. They have tried reporting their neighbour's intrusive behaviour to the landlord multiple times who 'doesn't care' about the problem, the Mirror reports.

Desperate to discourage the neighbour from looking in once and for all, the resident came up with a plan to write a savage note but is unsure if it is too harsh. Taking to Reddit to explain the situation, the unnamed tenant wrote: "I live in a ground floor flat in a tenement block, my living room/ kitchen window faces the communal back yard area.

"Over the last few months, the tenant above me takes her pet dog out there for its poops and pees. While she's out there, for some reason, she can't help but peer into my window, having a good look at me going about my daily business.

"Used to have blinds, but they broke and I replaced them with curtains the other day." Despite trying to politely ask them to stop before going on to mouth a 'f*** off' command in her direction, the woman's pesky habit continues.

The author added: "No amount of civil requests for her to stop, escalating rapidly to mouthed 'f*** offs' seem to have stopped her. I taped a small orange post it note to the window, saying 'KINDLY MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS'".

They said they were personally happy with the move but unfortunately the woman's father doesn't agree and said the note was 'out of order'. The tenant was eager to know what other people thought about their actions as other Redditors flocked to the comments to give their opinions.

Many were on the side of the disgruntled neighbour as one wrote: "Your only mistake is using a post it note rather than a posterboard. But I suppose you don't want to completely block your view of the yard."

Another advised: "Not the a**hole, but you are escalating the situation. Buy one-way mirror film to put on your windows so that you have privacy during the day when the sun is out."

A few other people suggested investing in some mirror film to fix the problem while others suggested the renter gives the woman a taste of her medicine by standing outside and stare at the neighbour right back.
