Cristiano Ronaldo ’s potential move to Bayern Munich is now off the cards amid major doubts over his Manchester United future.
The Portuguese has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer with a number of problems regarding the coming season. He was thought to be frustrated with the Red Devils’ poor performance throughout the 2021/22 season despite a productive personal campaign.
He scored 24 goals in all competitions for United last term but the Red Devils dropped into the Europa League courtesy of a sixth-placed finish. Doubts over Ronaldo’s long-term future have intensified over recent days with the forward left underwhelmed by the club’s summer transfer business thus far.
He has gone even further by laying down an ultimatum to his current employers by claiming that he may be forced to move elsewhere should things not improve sooner rather than later.
A number of clubs have emerged as potential suitors for Ronaldo ahead of next season, with a shock return to former club Juventus on the cards only a year after he departed Turin. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich were reportedly interested in making a move for him as they search for a replacement for wantaway forward Robert Lewandowski.
However, the option of a move to the Allianz Arena now appears to not be considered. According to Sky in Germany, Ronaldo will not join Bayern Munich this summer.

Interestingly enough, he has already indicated his enthusiasm at working under incoming boss Erik ten Hag. Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: "I know he did a fantastic job for Ajax and that he's an experienced coach but we need to give him time.
“Things need to change the way he wants. I hope we have success, of course. Because if you have success all of Manchester is going to have success as well so I wish him the best."
That news will of course be a relief to the Red Devils ahead of next season, with Erik ten Hag hoping to call upon the services of the Portuguese superstar. In the meantime, it will also be a blow to Bayern, who are aiming to secure the signing of another forward this summer.
The German giants have of course already announced the signing of former Liverpool star Sadio Mane - the Senegalese penning a three-year contract at the Allianz Arena. However, with Lewandowski looking likely to join Barcelona they need to add further to their forward options.
The Pole has been with the German giants since a switch from fierce rivals Borussia Dortmund back in 2014 and he has gone on to plunder 344 goals for the club, winning eight consecutive Bundesliga titles in the process.
