From a now-deleted 'chubby filter' to What I Eat in a Day videos, TikTok has a problem with body image content

The “chubby filter” sparked uproar and has now been deleted - (TikTok)

After a furore online, TikTok has deleted a viral filter which made people look overweight. The AI-generated “chubby filter” was created by CapCut, a video editing software owned by the same parent company as TikTok. It worked by adding weight to people’s bodies and faces, complete with text that read “this filter makes you chubby.” Thousands of users posted transition videos with captions like “never been humbled like this” and “me if I don’t go to the gym”.
