A popular seaside splash park has reopened and families can book free tickets now.
With temperatures on the rise youngsters will soon be keen to try out the Splash zone in Lytham St Annes' Promenade Gardens. The facility is housed in the former disused paddling pool area and is surrounded by amphitheatre style seating and attractive landscaping.
Families can book free hour-long sessions at the venue with slots at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm and 3pm. Each booking is for a maximum of four people, but you can book additional slots if your group is bigger.
You can book from now until June 16 and sessions for the summer holidays will be released at a later date. There are a variety of interactive water play features within the park, which accommodates children aged three to 12. A special under-fives session runs at 10am on Mondays and a session for children with disabilities and special educational needs at 10am on Tuesdays.
These include in-ground jets, above ground features for toddlers and large above ground features for juniors. There is also a jet zone on the right of the splash pad, which produces a shallow splash zone, allowing the toddlers who are less confident with water to have a calm experience without getting sprayed.
Refreshments including ice-creams, lollies and drinks will be on sale near the site throughout the season. There are no changing facilities so visitors are advised to go prepared. However the nearest public toilets, costing 40p, are now sited just next to the Splash entrance.
It's not the only splash park to open for the summer. We shared photos of the one at Happy Mount Park in Morecambe on our Manchester Family Facebook page with details of what sessions are running and when. With that one you can turn up on the day and book at the park kiosk.
