Marina Granovskaia has been warned of Frank Lampard's eye for a transfer ahead of the former Chelsea boss' potential appointment as Everton.
The Blues' all-time top goalscorer has just signed his contract to become the manager at Goodison Park, according to The Telegraph, immediately posing a threat to Thomas Tuchel's deadline day plans.
Lampard, who reportedly just put pen to paper during a meeting with Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, has already told the Toffees he would like two members of his Chelsea backroom staff - Joe Edwards and Anthony Barry - to join him on Merseyside, as per the report.
The 43-year-old enjoyed tremendous success in the transfer market during his reign at Chelsea, and he has been tipped to repeat a similar feat.
CarefreeChelsea's Daniel Childs and Scott Clayton were joined by football.london's Chelsea correspondent Adam Newson live on the Carefree Chelsea 'Back Page' show to delve into how Lampard might fair at Goodison Park.
Newson outlined his hesitancy regarding the potential appointment before suggesting that Lampard would be contradicting himself if he were to take the role.
"I'm surprised that he is so keen to go to Everton," he said. "I think he has waited a long time now for his next job, and he has been patient because he basically wants to find the right job.
"He did an interview with Gary Neville where he said he wanted to find the right owners, the right club. He didn't want to rush into anything because he wanted that settled environment, and we've seen over the last three or four years that Everton are anything but that."
Newson then explained why taking the Everton head-coach role is a risk for Lampard.
"They don't seem to have a clear plan of what they want to do or where they want to go, and I think it is a risk for him," he said.
"I understand the lure of Everton. They're a massive club, and there's a new stadium on the way - there's a lot of potential there for growth as a club. But, right now, I do think it is a bit of a risk."
Clayton added by highlighting the success of Lampard's £222 million signings at Chelsea and how Everton - who have a history of spending - could utilise the former Blues boss' eye for a good deal in a new project at the club.
"In the last few years, Everton has spent big on a few big players," he said. "If Lampard got their trust, got a few great signings in like he did at Chelsea, then it sets himself up to be half decent.
"I think it's a good job for him because David Moyes and Roberto Martinez both got given a good space of time to work on things."
