It has been a strange week as Everton faced a 10-day break after beating Manchester United while those teams around us have played.
The situation we are in - concentrating on other teams and focusing on their results - is not one we really want to be in. But whether you are involved at the top of the table or the bottom of the table it is human nature. It is what we do as fans, we celebrate the results that go our way and we get unhappy with those that don't.
It is natural to focus on Burnley, Watford, Norwich and others and look at what is happening on the pitch and, in Burnley's case with the departure of Sean Dyche, what is happening off it. At the end of the day though, Everton have to realise the outcome of the situation we are in is in our own hands. It is up to ourselves, the club and the players, and the next eight games in the Premier League are going to be huge.
