Four people treated by paramedics after two-vehicle road collision in Wishaw

Four people were treated for the injuries they sustained in a road collision between a van and a car in Cambusnethan.

The incident on Cambusnethan Street happened just after 10am, with emergency services rushing to the scene.

A photograph taken by an onlooker appeared to show the van on its side. Traffic was diverted on to Branchal Road as police, Scottish Fire and Rescue and the Scottish Ambulance Service helped those involved.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.15am on Tuesday, January 25 to reports of a road traffic collision on Cambusnethan Street, Wishaw involving a van and a car.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene to make the area safe.

“Four casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Police were called around 10.10am to a report of a two vehicle crash on Cambusnethan Street, Wishaw. Emergency services attended and the road was closed while recovery took place.”
