Police have arrested four men after armed officers were called to reports of people carrying weapons in the east of Glasgow.
Officers were alerted to the incident on Ruchazie Road at around 4.20pm on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Police, including firearms units, attended the scene and a 46-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with allegedly having an offensive weapon and vandalism.
He is due to appear in court at a later date and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Two other men, aged 27 and 28, were also arrested in connection with allegedly having offensive weapons but were later released without charge.
A fourth man, aged 47, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Police confirmed there were no reported injuries and said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.20pm on Thursday, 4 June, 2026, we received a report of men with weapons on Ruchazie Road in Glasgow.
“Police, including armed officers, attended and a 46-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with having an offensive weapon and vandalism.
“He is due to appear at court at a later date, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Two men, aged 27 and 28, were arrested in connection with having offensive weapons and released without charge.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
“A 47-year-old man was arrested in connection with an outstanding warrant.
“There are no reported injuries.”
