Former Tottenham star sensationally urges Arsenal to sell William Saliba amid Granit Xhaka claim

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O'Hara has sensationally urged Arsenal to sell defender William Saliba this summer.

Saliba enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 campaign on loan with French 1 side Marseille, winning Ligue 1's young player of the year award for his consistent performances at the back. And the 21-year-old enjoyed an emphatic pre-season with the north Londoners, with Mikel Arteta's side not conceding a single goal during the 282 minutes he was on the pitch.

Still, controversial pundit and former Spurs man O'Hara has told the Gunners to offload the France international before the transfer window slams shut. "Who?” O’Hara asked on talkSPORT when asked about Saliba.

“I mean you’re asking me about players, I have no interest in Arsenal whatsoever. If you have loaned him out and he has been there three seasons, you’ve loaned him out twice [then] he obviously ain’t [sic] good enough. Get rid of him."

Tough-tackling midfielder Lucas Torreira is set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer and football.london understands that Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in the diminutive Uruguayan. However, O'Hara has said that Arsenal should keep hold of the former Fiorentina loanee, claiming that he is better than Swiss captain Granit Xhaka.

"I liked him," O’Hara added. "I thought he was decent. He reminded me of myself in the way he played a little bit. He was horrible and nasty.

"Personally, I would keep him because I think he’s alright. I think he is better than Xhaka."
