Former This Morning star Dr Ranj Singh believes Holly Willoughby will return to TV soon after her shock exit from the ITV daytime stalwart last month.
The beloved presenter quit the programme after 14 years, saying that it was “a difficult goodbye” but added she needed to put her family first.
However, a return to the small screen could be imminent according to Dr Ranj, who was previously the show’s resident medical expert, insisting that the presenter is “too good” to quit TV completely.
Speaking to Closer, Dr Ranj praised his former This Morning co-star, insisting: “Of course [Holly] will come back to TV, she’s too good not to.
“I don't know where or what show, but she’s so good at it, it would be a shame for her to back away completely.”
Willoughby had been due to present the new series of Dancing On Ice next year alongside a new co-host following Phillip Schofield’s exit from ITV in May after his affair with a much younger colleague came to light.
However, it hasn’t been officially confirmed that the 42-year-old will resume her hosting duties.
Recently, Stephen Mulhern, who worked alongside Willoughby on Ministry of Mayhem, addressed speculation he would take over from Schofield on the winter entertainment series.
He previously told MailOnline: “We are talking about it. But I promise you now that nothing is confirmed but if it happens, it will be absolutely amazing… if it doesn’t, look, it doesn’t.
“I promise you I would tell you if we had it confirmed at this point.”
Elsewhere, Dr Ranj revealed that he reached out to Willoughby following her departure from This Morning.
He told the outlet: “I messaged Holly just to check she was OK. Everything that’s happened with her has been really tough. We all reached out and just want to make sure she's alright.
“She replied and she's good. Obviously, it’s a really difficult place for her to be in and she made a really difficult decision, but the kind thing to do is to reach out and just check in.”
