One of the top pending needs for the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason is shoring up the inside linebacker position. If you want input on who would be the best first for the Steelers, why not ask one of the best inside linebackers in franchise history?
Former Steelers linebacker Vince Williams offered up his top four inside linebacker prospects for the 2023 NFL draft. Here’s how they rank for Williams, who spent eight seasons in Pittsburgh.
- Dayian Henley, Washington State
- DeMarvion Overshown, Texas
- Trenton Simpson, Clemson
- Drew Sanders, Arkansas
And interesting mix and almost the opposite of how most draft pundits have these four coming off the board. Truth be told, I’d be absolutely fine with Pittsburgh drafting Henley in the second or Overshown in the third and using those two early picks for other positions. Williams was asked about a couple other top inside linebackers, Henry To’o To’o and Noah Sewell. He likes To’o To’o more than Sewell but I presume he has both lower than these four.
Henley, Overshown, Simpson and Sanders in that order.
