Authorities in Los Angeles have released images of three suspects and the getaway car involved in the tragic killing of former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor. The incident occurred in downtown Los Angeles as Wactor interrupted thieves attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle.
The Los Angeles Police Department shared two images on Sunday as part of a community alert seeking assistance in identifying the suspects. One of the images depicts the stolen vehicle, described as a 2018 black Infiniti Q50 with a tan interior. The second image shows three individuals standing outside the car.
According to the alert, Wactor was shot in the chest by a suspect identified as “suspect 1,” who bears tattoos above the left eye and on the right cheek. The shooting took place at approximately 3:20 a.m. on May 25.
Reports indicate that Wactor, aged 37, had just left work at a rooftop bar with a coworker when he noticed someone near his car and initially believed it was being towed. A masked suspect then opened fire, leading to the fatal shooting. The suspects quickly fled the scene in the stolen Infiniti.
Wactor was known for his role as Brando Corbin on the ABC soap opera from 2020 to 2022. In addition to his work on “General Hospital,” he had also appeared in various films and TV series, including “Station 19,” “NCIS,” “Westworld,” and the video game “Call of Duty: Vanguard.”
