The offseason has already begun for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team and the transfer portal news is firing up. Our first Ohio State entry into the portal is former four-star edge defender Omari Abor.
It is a bit sad to see the standout from Texas enter the portal because he was an exciting piece of that 2022 recruiting class. Unfortunately, he has struggled with injuries since his arrival on campus. Abor is still very young with multiple years of eligibility remaining, but he has opted to transfer, likely seeing the lack of opportunity for consistent playing time for the Buckeyes.
Abor saw a few snaps early in the 2022 season before missing the remaining games with a knee injury. His bad luck continued during the 2023 preseason when another injury forced him to have surgery. He was able to see the field in garbage time of a few contests. Although it is premature to assume where Abor might end up, my money is on him heading back home to Texas.
