Isaias strengthened into a Category 3 hurricane on Friday as it surged toward the Gulf Coast, where final preparations were being made for potentially life-threatening storm surges and high winds.
The National Hurricane Center said the hurricane is set to make landfall late on Friday somewhere along the Alabama-Florida line.
