Foo Fighters fans have expressed their frustration after tickets for the band's Everything Or Nothing tour were seemingly sold out in minutes, with many then resurfacing on resale sites at inflated prices. Seated tickets on general sale started at £55 each, going up to £104.50, while standing tickets were £82.50 each - however, with resellers now involved, these prices are expected to soar.
On Twitter, TomParkRP raged: "Was in queue for queue for Foo Fighters tickets at earliest opportunity. Got on Ticketmaster shop at 9.15, nothing left. Go on tout sites - already three times face value. When will ticket companies get a grip of this greed?!"
Mltiana fumed: "What an awful situation. 9 min and no tickets are available for the UK gigs and people are already advertising tickets for resale. Lifelong fan now can’t go because the touts are running it. Death of live music." AmberLouiseS_ put: "Getting foo fighters tickets is like trying to get a driving test in covid 2022."
Elliot2903 posted: "To everyone who has foo fighters tickets with no intention to go and only sell them 3x the price. I hope your pillow is warm on both sides." Yayymes added: "As expected, trying to get Foo Fighters tickets on Ticketmaster is an absolute shambles."
Fans who pre-registered and purchased the new Foo Fighters album, But Here We Are, were able to access pre-sale tickets, with general release tickets going on sale at 9am this morning (June 30). If no extra tour dates are added, fans face the prospect of paying extortionate prices for tickets sold by resellers, or shelling out on the few remaining VIP platinum tickets on sale for around £200.
Foo Fighters, who wowed fans in their surprise Glastonbury Festival performance after originally being billed as The Churnups, have previously been angered by resellers, reports Bristol Live. In 2017, hundreds of fans were turned away from the band's O2 Arena concert after they couldn't provide ID that matched their booking, or presented fake tickets they thought were real.
In a statement following the O2 gig, Foo Fighters said: "Frustrated and saddened that despite best efforts tickets for last night’s show at the O2 fell into the hands of unscrupulous secondary ticket agencies. Unfortunately, this meant a small number of fans purchasing bogus tickets from these unscrupulous outlets did not get into the sold out show."
Promoters SJM added: "Fans that bought tickets through our official box offices had to agree that they were buying named tickets prior to purchase. This was not a 'last minute' decision but was clear from the outset.
"We did this to prevent tickets being re-sold at extortionate prices. The vast majority of fans understood and adhered to this."
