Florence + The Machine stopped their headline show at Leeds First Direct Arena after a fan fainted in the audience.
Midway through the band’s Saturday evening show at the Leeds city centre venue the audience alerted security to someone being in distress with the person being lifted out of the crowd at the front of the stage. Lead singer Florence Welch, 36, spotted what happened and stopped the performance.
During the brief pause, Florence told concerned audience members: “Someone has fainted but I think they are okay.” She then went on to praise those at Leeds First Direct Arena for acting so swiftly.

As our video shows, Florence asked: “How is everyone doing out there? Thank you for taking such good care of each other.” Florence + The Machine performed in Leeds after being forced to postpone their 2022 date after their lead singer broke her foot.
Addressing her appreciative fans, Florence said: “Thank you so much for waiting for us and welcome to the show." A full review of Florence + The Machine’s gig at Leeds First Direct Arena will soon be published on LeedsLive.
